This datasheet is common for microcontroller ATmega8 and ATmega8L. Difference between ATmega8 and ATmega8L is only that ATmega is operated on (4.5 - 5.5)V supply voltage and ATmega8L is opertaed on (2.7 - 5.5)V. And due to low voltage operation of ATmega8L, its maximum speed grade is 8Mhz on ther other hand ATmega8 has 16Mhz maximum speed grade
