A report by LocalCircles claimed that 82 per cent of the people of India do not want to use WhatsApp with the new policy, that is only 18 per cent who are ready to use WhatsApp even after the new policy is implemented. The survey said that 36 percent people will reduce the use of WhatsApp. There were 8,977 people in this survey of LocalSarkal, although the number of WhatsApp users in India is more than 400 million. In such a situation, this survey will be called only an estimate. 24 per cent of the people surveyed said that they are thinking of moving their WhatsApp group to another platform. The survey includes 24,000 responses from 244 states in the country. 91% of the people surveyed have said that they will not use WhatsApp.
WhatsApp had sent notifications to its users for the first time regarding their new privacy policy, but the new policy has become a big problem for them. WhatsApp downloads in India have come down by 35% in just seven days after the release of the new policy. Apart from this, more than 40 lakh users have downloaded the Signal and Telegram app which has 24 lakh downloads of Signal and 16 lakh Telegram. Even after giving continuous cleaning of WhatsApp, people are shifting rapidly to other apps.
