In a notice issued on Friday, the West Bengal State Beverages Corp, an agency authorized to carry out online retail trade of liquor in the state, said that Amazon is one of the companies found eligible for registration with the authorities.
Apart from Amazon, Bikbasket will also deliver alcohol in West Bengal. Amazon has been invited to sign a memorandum of understanding with the state, although Amazon and BigBasket have not issued any official statements regarding the partnership.
