How long will the epidemic continue to be a problem for people? To know about this, we spoke to Dr. Deepak Saxena, an epidemiologist at IIPH Gandhinagar. Dr. Deepak says that the situation in the country is very worrisome at the moment but we should not give up hope of a better one. Some figures suggest that we may get a relief news soon.
Dr. Deepak Saxena says that the data so far shows that in 180 districts of the country, not a single case has been reported in the last one week. Corona cases have also seen a decline in many states. At present, these figures are reassuring for us. Vaccination in the country has also started showing its effect, it can be said that from the middle of May, the cases of corona will start decreasing in the country.
Epidemiologist Dr Deepak says that in many cities where conditions were very bad a few months ago, there is a decrease in cases now. Peak has already come in cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, Indore, Nashik, now the situation is improving there as well as the cases of corona are also seen to decrease. In some cities, where cases are now increasing rapidly, it is expected that by the end of May, the situation will improve. On the basis of these data, it can be said that the pace of the epidemic may stop in late May or early June
Experts have different opinions about the peak of the second wave. While Dr. Deepak says that we should look at the peak according to each state and its cities. Peak has already arrived in some cities, now the situation is improving there and the cases of corona are also seeing a decrease.
On the other hand, Professor Mathukumalli Vidyasagar of 'Indian Institute of Technology' (IIT) Hyderabad told in a conversation with Bloomberg that we can say that in the coming days, the second wave of Karona may come. The country desperately needs to be careful about this.
