A few days after the launch of Arogya Setu, global tech majors Apple and Google said on Saturday that they are building a software in the smartphone that will help with contact tracing and inform users that they are using Kovid-19 infected individuals. Have come in contact with or not.

NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant wrote on Twitter tagging Apple CEO Tim Cook and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, 'India is leading the way for contact tracing of Kovid-19. Citing the Arogya Setu App, the World Bank on Sunday released a report that said it can help educate the population at large and track infection. The World Bank's South Economic Focus report states, 'Digital technologies can also be used to monitor the spread of Kovid-19. Such initiatives, largely voluntary, have been successful in helping to combat the epidemic in East Asia. '

The report further states, 'Those reporting corona symptoms may be encouraged. India has recently launched the Arogya Setu app which allows users to use the smartphone's location to tell users if they are with someone whose corona report has come up positive.
